Modula at FABTECH 2026 in Las Vegas
Modula is heading to FABTECH 2026, taking place October 21-23 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
As North America’s largest event dedicated to metal forming, fabricating, welding, and finishing, FABTECH brings together manufacturers looking for new technologies and strategies to improve how they produce, handle, and manage materials.
For manufacturers, improving production efficiency does not stop at production equipment. How materials are stored and accessed can also have a significant impact on space utilization, workflow, and day-to-day operations.
At Booth #C746, Modula will showcase the Modula Lift equipped with a Double Bay configuration, giving visitors the opportunity to see how automated vertical storage can support demanding manufacturing environments.
When Manufacturing Inventory Takes Up Valuable Production Space
Manufacturing and fabrication environments often need to keep a wide range of tooling, dies, components, raw materials, spare parts, and work-in-process inventory readily available.
The challenge is that these items can quickly consume valuable floor space when stored on traditional shelving, racks, or across multiple areas of a facility. Heavy or bulky materials can also be more difficult for operators to access and organize efficiently.
Instead of continuing to expand storage horizontally, automated vertical storage allows manufacturers to take advantage of available building height and consolidate inventory into a smaller footprint.
The result is a more organized approach to storage that keeps materials accessible while freeing up floor space for production and other value-added activities.
One System, Different Manufacturing Applications
Storage requirements can vary significantly across a manufacturing facility.
Production teams may need quick access to tooling and components. Maintenance departments need spare parts available when equipment requires service. Other areas may be managing kits, raw materials, or WIP as products move through different stages of production.
Automated storage and retrieval systems provide the flexibility to support these different applications within a controlled and organized system.
Combined with Modula WMS, automated storage can also provide greater visibility into inventory locations and movements, helping manufacturers maintain better control over the materials supporting their operations.
See the Modula Lift with Double Bay Configuration
At FABTECH, visitors can see the Modula Lift equipped with a Double Bay configuration, featuring two separate access points, one on each side of the unit.
This setup allows a single VLM to support different workflows simultaneously. For example, one bay can be dedicated to replenishment while the other is used for picking, helping separate inbound and outbound activities and keep materials moving efficiently.
The two access points can also serve different work zones, production areas, or departments from the same unit. This provides additional flexibility in manufacturing environments where materials need to be accessed by different teams or at different points within the production process.
With its ability to store heavy and bulky items such as tooling, dies, components, and raw materials, the Modula Lift combines high-density vertical storage with the flexibility of a Double Bay configuration to support complex manufacturing workflows.

Modula Lift provides organized, high-density storage for CNC tooling, components, and parts used in manufacturing operations.
Supporting the Conversation Around Manufacturing Automation
Modula’s presence at FABTECH extends beyond the show floor.
This year, Modula is once again a sponsor of the FABTECH Conference Automation/Robotics Track, supporting educational sessions focused on the technologies and strategies shaping increasingly automated manufacturing operations.
The FABTECH Conference brings together industry experts across more than 180 sessions and 12 educational tracks, covering topics ranging from automation and robotics to smart manufacturing, fabrication, workforce development, and business operations.
For manufacturers evaluating where automation can make the greatest impact, these conversations provide an opportunity to look beyond individual technologies and consider how different processes throughout the facility can work together more effectively.
