Pick to Color Cart_Monitor

A simple and efficient solution for multi-order picking. Modula Color Guided Picking

An intuitive, color-guided picking method — no Put-to-Light system required.

What is Color Guided Picking?

A smart, guided method for multi-order picking with standard carts.

Modula Color Guided Picking offers a smart, cost-effective alternative to traditional put to light systems. It uses standard picking carts, color-based instructions, and barcode confirmation to guide operators through the order fulfillment process —without investing in a full put-to-light setup.

Each cart can hold up to eight bins, with each bin representing a different customer order. The system supports up to seven carts simultaneously, each assigned a unique color to visually guide the operator. Instructions are displayed on an external monitor, helping operators quickly identify where to place each item. A wearable barcode reader is used to confirm item placement, reducing errors and increasing speed.

Color Guided Picking is available with a Modula WMS Premium license and requires the Advanced Picking module.

What is Modula Pick to Color Cart?

Modula Color Guided Picking | How it works

Visual Guidance, Real-time tracking

The operator launches the orders to be fulfilled. On the Modula unit, the external monitor displays the color of the cart assigned to that picking session, along with all the details needed to complete the task: product image, quantity, and bin location.

The operator retrieves the cart with the corresponding color and connects to the Modula unit using a wearable barcode scanner, linked via a wireless gateway. This connection enables real-time tracking and synchronization with the WMS.

During picking, the operator is guided by the standard visual aids on the Modula unit — such as the alphanumeric bar and laser pointer — which help identify the correct item quickly and accurately.

Once the item is picked, it’s placed into the correct bin on the cart. The operator then confirms placement by scanning the bin’s QR code using the wearable scanner. If the wrong bin is scanned, the system provides immediate feedback, prompting correction before moving on.

This workflow can be repeated across up to seven carts at the same time, allowing multiple operators to work in parallel.

Color Guided Picking relies on two key tools that support the operator and ensure fast, accurate execution:
External Monitor
Installed on the Modula unit, the monitor displays the color of the assigned cart and provides clear picking instructions —…
Wearable Barcode Scanner
